DNS servers are critical parts of internet infrastructure. When you rely on Zerigo for your DNS services, you're trusting us to provide those services without interruption.

To that end, we've built a global server network, with DNS servers geographically distributed across North America and Europe.

Our global network has been carefully built to maximize uptime and reliability. Each production server is fully independent of the others to avoid the possibility of a cascading failure.

We run our servers substantially below maximum capacity to leave plenty of room for traffic spikes or other unanticipated traffic.

Easy-to-use management interface

You have enough things to worry about without fighting some clunky UI. We won't put you through that.

Our web-based management interface has been purpose-built to be easy-to-use and efficient — perfect for letting you get tasks done and getting back to more important things.

Powerful API

In addition to our easy-to-use web interface, we offer a powerful REST API. Our API is perfect for rapid updates related to cloud-based services.

For example, create unique host records for each of your customers.

Or, automatically create a record every time you launch a new VPS, cloud server, or EC2 instance.

Domain import & upload tools

Our domain import tool makes it easier than ever to configure your domains with Zerigo.

Simply enter the domain and a current DNS server hosting that domain and we'll do the rest.

As long as the remote server agrees to send your domain's information, it will be imported instantly—ready for your immediate review and use.

Alternatively, use our domain upload tool to upload a BIND-style zone file. We'll extract all the host records from it and immediately add them to your new domain.

Domain templates

Have you ever needed to configure two or more domains identically? Even similarly?

We provide domain templates that can significantly ease the configuration of multiple domains.

If they're all identical, just point the domain to the template. Future changes to the template can even automatically apply to each referencing domain.

Alternatively, use the template as a one time copy, allowing you to then make changes to the domain.

Vanity nameservers

Also known as custom nameservers, vanity nameservers allow advanced users to more thoroughly configure domain settings. The result is complete custom branding within each domain/zone record, including the hostmaster information.

We even make adding the matching A records super easy by providing a select-box of the IPs for each of our nameservers.

Instant updates

Who wants to wait hours for DNS changes to make it to their DNS servers? We don't and we're sure you don't either.

Updates made via our web interface or our API are processed by our custom synchronization engine and reflected in our DNS servers in an average of 30 seconds.

Our super fast DNS updates also make our service great for dynamic DNS.

Low TTLs

If you have DNS information that may need to change on short notice, fast updates are only half of the equation. The other half is support for low TTL (time-to-live, refresh period) values.

Zerigo allows you to fully configure the TTL for each domain and each host record. TTLs can be as low as 1 minute.

Wildcard hostnames

Want to use one sub-domain per customer, like customername.domain.com?

We offer not one, but two ways to accomplish that goal.

The easiest, and most popular, solution is a wildcard hostname. Simply set up a host record with * as the hostname.

Alternatively, use our API to automate adding and removing host records.

External master/slave support

Need Zerigo to act as a master to slave servers somewhere else? Not a problem.

Need Zerigo's servers to function as slaves to an external master? We can do that too.

SLA-backed reliability

Our global DNS network has been carefully engineered to be reliable and fault tolerant. Every DNS server is fully independent so there's no possibility of cascading failures.

Our promise of a reliable network is backed up by our DNS SLA which guarantees overall network uptime of 100% and individual server responsiveness at 99.99% (see the SLA for details).

No setup fees or contracts

Because we automated the whole provisioning process, we really don't have any need to charge setup fees. So we don't.

We know most people don't like contracts or term commitments either, so we've skipped those too (unless you really want one). Instead, we work hard day-in and day-out to continually earn your business. If we fail to do so, you are always free to cancel.
